Impressive cooling dog cot for travel
I was excited to order this dog cot for my 21 lbs Chi-terrier mix. I plan to take a few road trips with my dog in the next several months, and I wanted a versatile and very portable dog bed. For the price, I’ve been impressed with the Outrav Pet Cot.It comes in a storage bag which makes it much easier to travel with. All the parts are clearly labeled, even the plastic joints. It took about 20 minutes to assemble by myself (including the canopy), and another 10 minutes to take apart and pack. There are no screws required, so no worries about losing a screw or forgetting to bring a screwdriver or Allen wrench. The instructions are easy to follow, and are even printed on durable glossy cardstock to survive numerous trips and spills. The mesh panels are perfect for keeping her cool during warm/hot summertime weather. She has several fluffy cushions and blankets which I can just put on top and she can snuggle into if she gets cold. I appreciate that my dog can use this cot for either hot or cool weather. It also seems sturdy enough to be used either inside a hotel room, or outside on a cabin porch.I must have ordered incorrectly, because I somehow ordered the XL, and my little dog doesn’t really need a 4′ x 3′ bed. Fortunately, this can go nicely into storage until it’s time to travel. I’d highly recommend this dog cot…but double check the dimensions before ordering!

It doesnât last
Sadly it already ripped all the way, my dog honestly sat on it maybe 5 times. And its trash now.

More than what it seems, better
I didn’t expect to use this dog cot until summer but I put it together when it arrived to be sure I could and to see how the dogs reacted to it. When we’re sitting outside, I wanted to keep the dogs away from ticks and other insects in the grass. It was fairly easy to assemble but would have been easier with two people and I did it alone. Remember to stretch the fabric out before you start. That’s really key in assembling it. At this house, it hasn’t waited ’til summer for use. The kids and dogs have all been in it, under it, and now want to sit in it with blankets pillows and dogs to watch tv. The kids pulled it into the family room. As long as they are enjoying it so much, I’ll just leave it there for now. In summer, it will provide a great protection from sun for dogs and kids. It’s amazingly stable. It hasn’t tilted or turned over even with dogs jumping on and off and kids sliding on and under. Even though it is light weight, I wouldn’t want to carry it far if backpacking.

Pet cot and removable shade
This thing is massive! Both of my dogs can fit on it together, very comfortably. They’re 40 & 10 pounds. It was very easy to assemble and the instructions are both written and pictured which is always nice. The instructions are also printed on a laminated paper so they can be kept in the bag with the product without falling apart. The overall build is very sturdy and I love that the canopy top can be used or not depending on the activity. I do wish it came with a mat to lay on it because the size means I’ll spend more on an after market bed mat than this entire setup costs, but it is what it is. The cot and cover are very nice, absolutely adorable, and will provide a nice place for my dogs to rest out of the sun on hot summer days when the whole family is enjoying some outdoor time.It does say that this is portable and it is, comes in its own cary bag, but I wouldn’t plan to take this on a long hike or anything like that because it’s convenience compact but not feasible if you’re looking for ultralight and compact gear.

Good enough, but it definitely has problems
I recently purchased this pet cot and canopy, and I’ve had a mixed experience with it. On one hand, the cot itself is a wonderful addition to our outdoor setup for our two border collie mixes. They absolutely love the raised design, and the bonus sunshade feature seemed like a great idea for our deck, which they have continuous access to. The cot comes with excellent instructions, making assembly quite easy – a big plus for someone like me who has arthritis in my hands. Although I needed to use a little rubber mallet to ensure everything fit snugly, it generally goes together easily and is light to carry, which is fantastic for taking to all-day sporting events, outdoor concerts, or camping trips. The material of the cot seems durable and of nice quality, and I found the price extremely reasonable for the size and quality offered. However, there are a few downsides that I’ve encountered. Firstly, the carrying case it comes with isn’t very sturdy; the handle already showed signs of wear, and the toggle that keeps it closed was broken. This is something I’ll need to reinforce for future use. Additionally, despite its ease of assembly, I wouldn’t necessarily call this bed “portable” in the sense that disassembling and reassembling it regularly is a practical task. It’s doable, but not something I’d want to do frequently, especially for just a day trip – in those cases, a large umbrella might be more convenient. Moreover, while the cot itself is sturdy and well-designed, especially with the double-legged bottom and velcro sides for easier assembly, the sunshade doesn’t match this durability. The material of the sunshade is very thin, and one of the pole sleeves ripped at the seam just from the tension of putting it on. This leads me to believe it won’t last long, especially with exposure to the elements, which is disappointing given the overall quality of the cot.In conclusion, while this pet cot and canopy have many positives like its design, ease of assembly, and comfort for my dogs, there are significant drawbacks, particularly with the carrying case and the sunshade’s durability. If you’re planning to use it for extended camping trips, it might be worth the setup effort. However, for shorter outings or as a permanent fixture outdoors, it may not live up to expectations. I’ll be keeping an eye on how it holds up over time and will update on its durability after some exposure to summer elements.

Ripped after less than 3 months
After just a couple of months I have to say I am very disappointed in this product. My dog that is just under 55 pounds would use this and the entire fabric part has ripped. Product is misleading.
