Honest Food, Honest Price, BEST dog food I’ve ever used
I have read a lot of reviews in my time about dog food. So many in fact that it led to my changing foods way too often trying to find the “PERFECT” food. Little did I know that I had actually found it, but was swayed by the Blue Buffalo wilderness ads and what I’d read about it from other Australian Shepherd owners. While my dogs love it, it costs a fortune and after about a week of eating it, they just weren’t thrilled with it anymore. We’ve used Taste of the Wild, and several others and people kept telling me to feed my dogs raw. While that’s all fine and good for some people, I don’t TRUST raw that I get from the grocery store. If I had a yard full of chickens I could slaughter, I’d think differently, but I’m NOT trusting my dog’s health to truckers who may or may not keep the meat at the correct temp, grocery store workers who don’t use proper handling techniques, etc. I trust myself, and myself only and since I can’t guarantee what the rest of the “Food Chain” does with our food, I will not take a chance with my dog’s health. After using the HONEST kitchen Thrive, I have seen an amazing difference in my dog’s coat, my older Aussie does not have to chew her feet anymore because her allergies are GONE.They LOVE this food, do thrive on this food, it’s economical, much more so than those high brow, low yield dog foods. My older girl tends to lose weight on this food as well, and seeing such a wonderful difference in their health, activity level, coat, and decrease in allergy symptoms, I know now NEVER to change their food ever again! If I ever do have a yard full of chickens to slaughter at my leisure (ha), then I might add that to the Honest Kitchen’s Thrive, but not replace it. The chicken is cooked?? So what? My dog’s allergies are all but gone. The only issue is rehydrating it and waiting on it to get to a suitable thickness for them…they go literally crazy. That is the best sign of them all. They don’t do this for Blue Buffalo or ANY other brand.Buy it, try it! You can get sample sizes at their website. I’m thinking about trying it for our picky cat next!

Amazing for dogs with allergies!!
Found out my dog had a number of allergies to things that are very common in fresh food and kibble such as niacin and salt. This dehydrated food was the ONLY food I could find that did not have either of those ingredients which is why I decided to purchase. My dog was okay with the taste it would take her sometimes all day to eat it. I love this brand of dehydrated food for her but I took away a star because it is very stinky and makes the house smell like fish, I did switch to the chicken flavor one.

Eliminated Boxerâs GI Issues
This food has eliminated our senior male boxerâs acid reflux symptoms. My dog started exhibiting symptoms of intermittent drooling after eating although heâd eaten the same premium dog food for nearly ten years. When the drooling became more frequent, we started experimenting with new dog food, but the symptoms became worse after a month. My vet ran blood work and had us get an upper GI ultrasound. Since the blood work was normal and the ultrasound showed evidence of thickening of the stomach lining, she believed that protein was the problem and prescribed a hydrolized protein food and OTC acid reducers, but my dogâs symptoms of persistent drooling and swallowing/gulping and lip smacking about an hour after each feeding continued. After a strict elimination diet and hours and hours spent preparing home-cooked meals, we discovered our boxerâs reflux is caused by high-fat content. I discovered this food has very low-fat (only 7%) and is grain-free so decided to give it a try. Our dog LOVES the taste and has zero symptoms of reflux, and it has been three months! I split the daily recommended serving into three feedings since dogs with reflux should not have too much food in their stomachs. I couldnât be happier with this food. Itâs expensive but saves me lots of time and ensures our boy is getting all the nutrients he requires.

Helped My Dogs Pancreatitis
This really seems to have helped our dog’s stomach issues. The ingredients are human grade, production standards seem really high. I like supporting this company, seems like they are consistent with the quality. The dog loves the flavor, no problems for her but here are the downsides: smell is pretty bad, it makes a mess when she eats (she is a messy dog by nature though), the cost, and volume of food per price. It is quite expensive for a 56 lb animal, and I don’t think it lasts as long as they recommend but I do need to track that better. However, it’s the only thing her stomach issues seem to tolerate. I think it may be helping her allergies too, although I think we need to be on it longer to tell for sure. She’s only been eating this about 6 mos. One last downside, she poops like crazy now. Not diarrhea or loose stools, just the volume is like a horse. No kidding. But, no more throwing up, and pancreatitis seems to be much easier to manage while eating Honest Kitchen Limited Ingredient Fish.

Je mélange cette nourriture en poudre avec les croquettes de ma chienne et elle adore ça. Depuis, elle ne fait plus des selles en diarrhée. C’est cher, mais ça vaut le coût.

My dogs loved it! I’ve retried otherOnes but the most important thing for my dogs is that there’s spinach in it. I would definitely buy again.

Thank goodness for this recipe from THK!! 🙂 I have done a fair share of researching and looking around for dog food that contains limited specific ingredients with no potatoes and limited preservatives. This product has saved my little frenchie’s from his longstanding tummy issues due to his multiple food sensitivities and allergies. Before this, I tried almost all the better known/available dry food brands and raw foods with my little one but nothing seemed to work for long before his digestion issues (bloating, diarrhea, vomiting, itchy paws and ears) would return. I tried homemade meals for him but that wasn’t a sustainable solution for us. One night, I decided to switch my pup’s dinner to this product and he didn’t have and still hasn’t shown any digestion issues/stomach upset (a VERY good sign for my frenchie). His bathroom routine has never been better or more regular so that makes me a very happy doggy mom. The recipe does have a fishy smell to it but that’s a small price to pay as my pup simply LOVES eating this food. He seems to like it even more if I added a bit more warm water to the mix, which I think it brings out the flavour and the aroma more. All in all, my frenchie and I have been very happy to come across this product from THK. 🙂
