The Glacier Tek sports vest is designed to keep you cool during and after strenuous physical activity. The vest features dual side elastic straps and over-the-shoulder adjustability for a secure fit on a wide range of body sizes. Each vest includes a set of eight cooling packs that maintain a cool — but not cold — temperature of 59° F for up to 2.5 hours in 100° F heat. The packs are powered by PureTemp, a nontoxic phase change material known for its consistent, repeatable performance over thousands of melting-solidification cycles.
SIZING: The sports vest comes in one size designed to fit most adults. It weighs just under 5 pounds, including cooling packs, and will fit chest sizes between 29 inches and 52 inches. I work in a manufacturing setting as a press operator and although my company has rented a 40 ton capacity air conditioning unit the production floor still gets so hot that it is evident that people are on the verge of heat prostration- you can see it by the red faces and stress as they move at a slower pace than usual. In my corner of the building the heat builds up so much on 90°F days that the press electrical cabinet sometimes fails in what is actually about 120°F to 125°F ambient temperatures. Last Friday I actually got sick from the heat and I decided to do something about it by ordering this cooling vest. I was especially impressed with the fact that the gel packs freeze at 59°F in 20 minutes if they are submerged in ice water. A fully re-charged set of gel packs do not feel like ice cubes but the cooling sensation is strong enough to weather the hottest and most humid conditions. It cools off your core effectively, allowing you to have a clear mind while moving at an aggressive pace throughout the shift. However, you must plan in advance how you will recharge your gel packs! You will want to change them out every 2 to 3 hours. I bring a Play- mate cooler with me to work stocked with big blocks of ice which I make using Rubbermaid containers in my downstairs freezer. It holds water bottles and my gel packs. On a brutal night working nine hour shifts this cooling vest will increase your productivity and comfort exponentially. I highly recommend it for anyone who is working in misery because of the heat! Consider it an investment in your health and both mental and physical power. The garment and gel packs are of excellent, top-notch quality.

This cooling vest is AMAZING!
I purchased a Glacier Tek Sport Vest because I’ve seen other golfers at my club wearing cool vests and was referred by one of them to this product. It is absolutely amazing – comfortable, snug fit (fully adjustable) and performs better than claimed. It moderates body core temperature without being too cold or too warm, and last for a complete round of golf. It is pretty warm now in Southern California and the reduced heat stress makes a big difference on how I feel when done (wish it lowered my score….). I’ve tried cooling towels are similar items that didn’t do anything after 5 minutes of use, and I’ve seen some vests that cost two or three times as much from Europe that didn’t perform as well, and just seemed kind of gimicky. This vest works! Is easy to recharge in cold water, lasts a long time and is very comfortable and not bulky. I would recommend this vest to anyone who works or plays in the heat of summer. It will keep you refreshed and cool, and able to make fun of your friends who don’t own a cooling vest!

Nice Cooling Vest
The GlacierTech cooling vest is a nice addition to my outdoor equipment. I rated it four stars instead of five because of the length of time the cooling lasts. In 100 degree weather it lasts about an hour and 15 minutes. Also the eight cooling packs are two sets of different sizes. One set has four sections and the other has three. I don’t understand the three unless it is for a child. I use the three section packs inside my hat so all is not lost.The refreeze time only takes between 15 and 30 minutes. This accommodates a quick turnaround for usage. Another benefit is the adjustable velcro straps which allow for different size individuals. I have found that when first putting on the vest a loose fitting is best. As the packets begin to defrost adjustments to the velcro to bring the vest closer to your body prolongs the cooling.The GlacierTech vest is a little pricier than others but I believe it was worth the additional cost. The liquid inside is not water and I’m assuming it is a proprietary substance that seems to be cutting edge technology. I would definitely recommend this product.

A necessity for working in hot/humid weather.
This vest WILL NOT whisk you away to an air conditioned room… It will keep your core temperature down, reduce sweating a bit, not completely, increase energy levels in the heat, and reduce the chance of heat related illnesses.The cool packs are a bit bulky until the melt down a little. Single pack in each pocket (4) lasts about an hour (a bit more) in 90*F heat, and keeps your core cool to the touch.In hot and humid conditions there is condensation, so theyâre not a bone dry solution, but a lot drier than an evaporative vest.The weight (they are not feather light) Is well distributed over your shoulders, and very comfortable. Putting ALL the cooling pads in makes the vest a little bulky, but not unwearable, and still allows for a wide range of motion.Folks with long torsos will find this rides a little higher than youâd expect, but itâs cooling your core, not your belt.I can comment on durability as Iâve only had it for a month, but it gets used 6.5 hours a day 5 days a week, and show no signs of stitching coming undone.This isnât a very cheap solution to surviving heat, but it is effective. Just donât expect miracles… Expect a cooler body core, which reduces stress on your body, and especially your heart.

When a friend told me about the Glacier Tek Sports Cool Vest, I was thrilled. I overheat easily, and with record temperatures on their way again, I needed something to help keep me from overheating. This vest was a blessing, especially this week.Though Iâm an office worker, I do have to supervise outdoor fields on occasion, including setting up for athletic events. This week had one such day where I had to be outside and setting up a field; normally, I would have been close to passing out from the heat alone, but the vest helped keep my body temperature regulated. No headaches, no dizziness, all thanks to Glacier Tek keeping me from overheating.If you also overheat easily, I highly recommend this product. Itâs lightweight and comfortable and the sizing is flexible. Iâm a large person, and the velcro straps made it a breeze to fit it to my size. And it still fits under my work shirts! I would give this 6 stars if I could.
