Just for pets heating pad
This is a very soft & warm heating pad. But not too warm. It doesnât have a thermostat which was one less hassle for me. It states for outdoor cats but Iâm using it for 2 – 5 week old rescued kittens. They love it & sleep good on it. The cord is also cat chew proof, strong & sturdy. Itâs so strong that my little 1 # Persimmon boy was climbing up on it to get out of his playpenâsuccessfully I might add! lol ð

If I understand correctly, this pad must have a sensor that only turns on the heat if it feels the weight of a cat of about 3 pounds or more. Our cat didn’t want to use the outdoor cat house after we put the pad in it, but I put a 5 pound weight on it, and that caused the pad to heat, and our cat to start using it.As for the negative reviews saying it doesn’t get warm enough, cats don’t need as much heat from a pad like this as a human might want, and too much heat would make them avoid it. This pad has just the right amount of heat when the cat lays on it.And for some other negative reviews saying it only works if the cat lays on it, of course it only works that way, that’s how it was designed. If you want radiant heat, get something else, but know that most of the radiant heat will be wasted energy.

I have some outdoor kitties in my backyard and felt sorry for them out in the cold winter. I made an insulated cat house for them. I bought this heated pad for them, plugged it in, and put it in the cat house and two of them (mother and one grown kitten) crawl in, lay on that pad and snuggle together at night. It’s really good to know you’ve helped an animal or two make it through the cold winter.
